A cool little application with thoughtful customizations. However any registry cleaning or general optimization software i.e. Auslogics tools interferes with how this app retains it's license status.. What struck me at first glance was how much customization this app makes possible for the start menu and the taskbar. It offers a wealth of options! The Start Menu can have different styles (Windows 7, Modern Style, and Windows 10), themes, and looks. It can be solid, transparent, have different icon sizes, different sorting methods, and exhibit different behaviors that make the Start Menu much more useful. For example, recently used applications are highlighted, submenus open when you pause on them with the mouse, and Cortana can be replaced! The Taskbar can be customized based on look, transparency, color, blur, texture, and behavior. I'm hooked on the textures! Some of the textures include: Marble, Metallic, Marble, Carbon Fibre and Dark Wood. Oh, and check this out...you can change the icon used for the Start Menu! It sounds so simple but is pretty neat. My Start Menu icon is a biohazard symbol!!Start10 gives you incredible control over how the Start Menu and Taskbar behave. Linux users, particularly KDE users, will recognize many of the features since KDE has had them for years. Thanks to Start 10, Windows users can too.NOTE: My usage time of 5 minutes is misleading. I've been using Start10 for over 10hrs now. It seems that when Start10 is launched, it logs a few seconds of usage in Steam then detaches from Steam and runs on its own. To make this review, I had to launch Start10 about 60 times to get the 5 minutes of usage.. Saw that this software had mixed reviews, simply recommending it because it deserves a higher rating.Since Windows 8, the start menu has been\u2665\u2665\u2665\u2665\u2665\u2665 I used to use classic shell to replace the menu, but now I use Start10 because I only wanted the start menu modifed. Works the same way as the old start menu while looking nicer.An added benifit is skinning the taskbar, which I've made to look like Windows XP. Which is well complemented by the classic 'bliss' wallpaper.Other people seem to be complaining about activation not work. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, but I've never had that issue and I've installed the software on multiple laptops and desktops running various Windows 10 versions.. After the Windows 10 Creators update this is very much needed! Comes with various Taskbar and Start menu customizability options and does exactly what it should without hogging resources from your computer.. Not very useful.. Start10 gives you the ability to go back to the original Windows 7 start menu and customize it in many ways. You can change the icon for the start menu, add a custom image for the background of the menu and some other features which I can't remember (which probbably means they weren't very important). In my opinion this program will only be appealing to people who really enjoy customizing their computer however if you are just looking for the old Windows 7 start menu then this definitely does the job. 7\/10. garbage keep asking cdk ey. this is a very good product, but like fences this software have problem problems with two screen setups, one of which is when you change your taskbar texture there are some textures that wont work with two screens and go far only as the amount of pixel that the main monitor is (you cant fix this problem even tho there are things that may be trying to), there are probably more bugs that i didnt notice\/ rememeber. also please add more customable buttons, like lauch program or something like that, another idea is that i think there should be an option (mabey there is one) to customize your icons on the start menu, mabey just so they apear there every time, mabey that some icons would be bigger than other (like 2 x 1 icon size for a specific icon). also, they should have a feature that when you hover above a line that changes the settings of the menu, it shows pictures of the changed if we enable\/ disable the checkmark box, lastly, when you pop up the menu it doesnt go smooth and its quite laggy.even though all of the problems and ideas that could be in it i am going to give it a upvote because the main reason the expirience i had was damaged is because the 2 monitors setups bugs if you have a single monitor setup i highly reccomend this steam softwareraawwwwr xD lmao this comment is serious tho ignore the\u2665\u2665\u2665\u2665\u2665\u2665i wrote on this linealso its not true that i have only 0.1 hours on this product, because each time i open it it counts as 1-2 seconds of this software being open, the only reason it says i have 0.1 hours is becasue i set a macro that would click every 1 seconds on the launch button so i could reach the minimal time to write this review, hope yall fix those bugs and add my ideas, tnx. ! ! ! WARNING ! ! !Do NOT purchase from the steam store page, unless you want to screw yourself over.You're only allowed to install on 5 devices, but they don't tell you that, so if you're like me and haven't been deactivating the software with each fresh install of windows on the same computer.. Then they basically lock you out, with no way of getting the software to work without having to buy it again.The customer support was of no help, either. I was just sent some generic looking copy-paste reply, with no actual solution to the issue.Save yourself the frustration and purchase it straight from their site. There is no reason to purchase it here on steam.
